Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Cash Waggner & Associates. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and constructing geotechnical structures, assessing soil and rock properties, and collaborating with project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and construct geotechnical structures, including foundations, retaining walls, and earth dams
  • Assess soil and rock properties to support safe and efficient design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including civil engineers, structural engineers, and construction managers
  • Set design specifications and plan projects based on analysis of relevant materials
  • Draft and present reports on project topics, including environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs
  • Monitor project progress and ensure design specifications, safety, and sanitation standards are met

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with an emphasis on Soils Mechanics, Foundations, Geotechnical Engineering, and Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer licensure or ability to become licensed
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems
  • Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analysis software

Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Must be able to travel to various project sites. Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
