Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead the design and permitting processes for solid waste facilities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Design and Development: Develop and review engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for solid waste projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders to secure necessary permits and approvals.
  • Construction Oversight: Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact analyses for proposed projects.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and other documentation required for project approvals.
  • Team Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
  • Project Budgeting: Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on solid waste management projects.
  • Skills: Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex engineering projects. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and other relevant tools. Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes in Indiana.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
