Job Summary

Norco, Inc. is seeking a skilled Acetylene Plant Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the Acetylene Plant and the safe filling of all acetylene cylinders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Operations: Safely start up and shut down the plant at the beginning or end of the day, operate and monitor the plant during operation, and record required information on logs at required time intervals.
  • Cylinder Filling: Safely fill Hydrogen, Chemtane, and Propane according to procedures, perform visual inspection on cylinders prior to filling, and safely fill acetylene cylinders and perform leak checks on all cylinders at predetermined PSIG.
  • Quality Control: Verify labeling is correct and readable on filled cylinders, and follow established procedures for blowing acetylene cylinders down and getting them ready for re-qualification or maintenance.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary, including accurately entering data into computers, acquiring a working knowledge of software applications, and performing basic mathematics calculations.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Skills: Ability to accurately enter data into computers, acquire a working knowledge of software applications, and perform basic mathematics calculations.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Previous Experience: Previous knowledge of cylinders and gases is preferred.
