Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance and repair programs to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
  • Provide technical support to plant operations and personnel, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve high-performance goals and objectives.
  • Oversee maintenance of critical equipment, including boilers, steam systems, compressed air, water, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
  • Manage day-to-day scheduled work for mechanics and outside contractors, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Utilize CMMS system to track work requests and work orders, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Schedule shifts for mechanics, including overtime as needed, to meet plant production demands.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all maintenance personnel, adhering to regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Participate in plant performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Work closely with the Plant Engineering Manager to oversee capital expenditure projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide emergency response and support as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to new and existing employees, promoting knowledge transfer and skill development.
Requirements:
  • Degree in engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance and engineering, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Experience working in a union environment, with a strong understanding of labor relations and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems, with the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
