About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our WW Books team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to our business leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Controllership of the business, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive business decisions.
  • Implement and drive core financial processes and reporting, including Annual Operating Plans, Long Term Plans, and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures, and analyze business opportunities/investments.
  • Lead ad hoc financial analyses and root cause investigations.
A Day in the Life

This is a finance business partner role leading US Finance for the Books business. The role involves:

  • Owning full P&L controllership and business partnership from top to bottom line.
  • Supporting negotiations and vendor managers.
  • Overseeing the business across both print and digital formats.
  • Providing strategic leadership for a scalable approach to business problems.
About the Team

The scope of this role is broad, with high visibility, multiple product formats, and P&L accountability. This presents a great opportunity for someone looking to take on significant business leadership responsibilities and grow their skills.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 5+ years of finance experience, or Master's degree and 3+ years of finance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
