Student Financial Management Counselor

At Georgia State University, we are seeking a highly skilled Student Financial Management Counselor to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for providing financial counseling to students, parents, and the university community about the financial aid process, financial aid eligibility requirements, and student account policies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct financial management workshops and seminars to educate students and parents about financial aid and student account policies.
  • Provide tier 2 support to students, parents, and colleagues regarding complex financial aid and student account issues.
  • Assist in awarding financial aid according to program regulations and review the accuracy of financial aid applications.
  • Collect money owed to the university using telephone and mail collection techniques.
  • Counsel students on enrollment management issues, including admissions, registration, and academic records.
