Job Summary

Under the supervision of providers, leadership, or RNs, the Psychiatric Technician II performs various duties to assist in the treatment and care of psychiatric patients in accordance with established methods and procedures of the Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit at Rutland Regional Medical Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of treatment plans for patients with mental health conditions.
  • Provide support and guidance to patients in a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Document patient observations, care provided, and any changes in patient condition.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as a Mental Health Technician or related patient care technician.
  • Certificate in mental health technology or a related field, such as a licensed nursing assistant, preferred.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Completion of an endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification.

  • Excellent interpersonal and observation skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Compensation

Competitive differentials rates apply:

  • $4.25 - Evenings
  • $8.00 - Nights
  • $4.75 - Weekends
