Position Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Virginia

Reporting To: Director of Finance/Accounting

Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily financial operations of the department. This position is integral in assisting the accounting team with the auditing of cash transactions and the monitoring and reporting of various organizational assets.

Key Responsibilities:
In alignment with Ampler's policies and procedures, the primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Collaborate with the parent company’s accounting department.
2. Aid in the research and preparation for audits, financial projects, and tax-related tasks.
3. Support field operations by reviewing financial reports and analyzing variances from the budget.
4. Report daily banking activities, including checks received and cash deposits, while providing comprehensive cash reporting for all cash and credit card transactions.
5. Generate accounts payable invoices as directed by the Director of Finance.
6. Manage corporate credit card analysis and reporting.
7. Deliver exceptional customer service to field personnel, vendors, and clients.
8. Identify opportunities for enhancing current accounting systems and policies, offering recommendations for improvement.
9. Perform additional duties and analyses as required by the Director of Finance.
10. Provide ad-hoc reporting on sales performance, product tracking, and budget comparisons.
11. Report any significant accounting discrepancies or financial irregularities to the Director of Finance/Accounting and relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting with 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Excel; familiarity with UKG, Paylocity, and Workday is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail sectors is preferred.
- High ethical standards and good character.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote environment.
