Facilities Operations Manager

Overview

The Facilities Operations Manager oversees the comprehensive coordination and management of District and Project supervisors, along with individual locations. This role is pivotal in ensuring client satisfaction through the provision of high-quality services, delivered promptly and within the designated budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

- Recruit and train hourly staff members

- Embrace and promote the Company's Strategic Principles, Core Values, and People Culture

- Hire personnel to ensure accounts are adequately staffed in accordance with contract requirements

- Delegate responsibilities and tasks to team members while inspecting work for cleanliness and thoroughness

- Develop work procedures and create schedules while ensuring adherence to the established labor budget

- Conduct orientation for new hires, safety training, and job-specific training to ensure employees can perform their duties efficiently and safely

- Prepare and review all necessary documentation, including time sheets, incident reports, new hire forms, employee training records, work orders, and supply orders

- Foster open communication by addressing employee relations issues and providing coaching and counseling to promote success

- Build relationships with clients by regularly visiting accounts to ensure the highest quality of service

- Address issues and complaints promptly to maintain optimal customer satisfaction

- Keep a record of client interactions and concerns, ensuring follow-up to resolve issues

- Monitor assigned accounts for potential work order opportunities and additional services that can be incorporated into contracts

- Ensure all mandatory Quality Control site evaluations are conducted and documented

- Spend time at account locations to support outcomes that meet client needs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Proficient in business-level English, both verbal and written communication

Two to three years of management experience in a related field, with a preference for experience in the janitorial sector

Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to evolving environments

A strong focus on customer service and satisfaction

High school diploma or equivalent

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Essential skills and knowledge pertinent to this role include:

Effective leadership, with the ability to motivate, train, and develop team members.

Knowledge of carpet care and cleaning; floor maintenance techniques; familiarity with floor care chemicals; and operation of floor care equipment is preferred.

Dependability, thoroughness, tact, and courtesy; ability to work collaboratively and exercise sound judgment.

Proficient in using technology, including the internet, email, Word, and Excel, as well as utilizing technology for recruitment, onboarding, and managing employee data.

Strong communication skills with both internal and external clients.

Organized, with proven problem-solving abilities, and capable of multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities.

Availability to work a full-time schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, depending on account needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position may require lifting objects up to 50 lbs., with frequent lifting and/or carrying of items weighing up to 25 lbs. Other physical demands include reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, writing, and visual tasks.

LICENSE: A valid state driver's license is required to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, as significant travel between accounts is necessary. Reliable transportation is essential for travel to various accounts within the assigned territory.

Additional Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Four to five years of management experience in the janitorial industry is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft and Google products is required.
