Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Workers Compensation Specialist to join our team at Ruiz Food Products. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Manager with the Workers' Compensation program, maintaining employee records, and coordinating various Workers' Compensation related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager in reducing costs associated with Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including Workers' Compensation documents and medical notes.
  • Support the Return to Work Program by preparing necessary documentation and coordinating with team members.
  • Coordinate and implement various Workers' Compensation related activities, including notifying department managers of current status.
  • Track medical visits and remind team members of upcoming appointments.
  • Manage training record systems, medical record systems, and Workers' Compensation records systems to document changes.
  • Maintain OSHA and weekly logs to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Communicate necessary information to Human Resources and Payroll departments.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of safety policies, USDA, GMP's, QA, Sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • Assist the Manager with training, invoicing, and work orders.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal skills with team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Medical terminology and medical office background preferred.
  • Excellent MS Office skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
