We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Worker Compensation Specialist to join our team at Ruiz Foods. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Manager with the Workers' Compensation program to reduce costs, maintaining employee records, and coordinating the Return to Work Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager in the development and implementation of the Workers' Compensation program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including workers' compensation documents and medical notes.
  • Coordinate the Return to Work Program, preparing necessary documentation and communicating with team members.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of various Workers' Compensation related activities, such as notifying department managers of current status.
  • Track medical visits and remind team members of appointments.
  • Manage training record systems, medical record systems, and Workers' Compensation records systems to document changes.
  • Maintain OSHA and weekly logs.
  • Communicate necessary information to Human Resources and Payroll departments.
  • Maintain knowledge, understanding, and adherence to safety policies, USDA, GMP's, QA, Sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality is an essential function of this position.
  • Assist manager with training, invoicing, and work orders.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal skills with team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Medical terminology/medical office background preferred.
  • Must have excellent MS Office skills and experience with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
