Role Summary:
The Vice President of Sales for the Technology Sector is a pivotal leadership position responsible for guiding the sales team in promoting the ServiceNow platform to leading technology firms. Reporting directly to the AVP of our Strategic Technology division, this role will be instrumental in executing growth strategies to stimulate market demand while leading, nurturing, and managing a team of field-based sales professionals. The sales leader will be dedicated to surpassing targets, showcasing strong management capabilities, and maintaining a proven history of exceeding sales quotas in a dynamic sales environment.
Key Objectives:
- Develop a high-performing sales team recognized as a destination for top talent.
- Elevate our accounts to a new level of strategic importance through effective utilization of our platform.
- Establish natural sales processes to facilitate large, strategic transactions that enhance year-over-year business growth.
- Act as a crucial liaison with the partner organization, major deals team, and other segments within ServiceNow.
- Implement a framework to ensure ongoing retention and success in adopting the ServiceNow platform.
Core Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the AVP to define the team's vision, priorities, and objectives.
- Develop, implement, and execute a strategic sales plan to meet company sales goals.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the planning process, aligning resources to maximize opportunities by product, industry, and persona.
- Position the business for substantial growth beyond current targets, significantly increasing revenue year over year.
- Demonstrate exceptional operational and analytical skills, including cadence, reporting, and forecasting experience.
- Translate business goals into specific objectives for the designated area.
- Maintain a strong track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining high-performing sales teams.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A proven history of managing a sales organization with consistent overachievement of quotas and revenue targets.
- Experience in building a complex, matrixed sales team known for its culture and results.
- Strategic sales expertise with a record of revenue generation from multiple enterprise software solutions while fostering customer loyalty.
- Significant background in enterprise software sales, with the ability to engage C-suite executives and demonstrate executive presence.
- Skills in C-level engagement, negotiation, account strategy, domain expertise, executive selling, large deal management, and team leadership.
- Experience in attracting, retaining, and developing high-potential talent through effective assessment, selection, onboarding, coaching, and development.
- A positive attitude, competitive spirit, strong work ethic, humility, and excellent communication and team-building skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
