Position: English Teacher - Middle School

Reports to: Principal

Classification: School Year Staff, Full Time, Exempt

Salary Range: $65,600-$90,600 (prelim/clear credential); the salary range for an intern credential or emergency permit starts at $61,100.

Location: ACE Esperanza Middle School

Position Overview:

We seek outstanding educators who are deeply passionate about inspiring students to engage in learning through community building and rigorous, standards-aligned instruction. You will seamlessly integrate strategies for English Learners and students with disabilities into your lessons. Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the unwavering belief in the remarkable potential of every student.
  • Maintain a growth mindset with all stakeholders.
  • Establish authentic relationships with students by serving as a mentor, consistently reinforcing the belief that all students can succeed through college.
  • Foster genuine connections with families through school events, phone calls, and conferences.
  • Commit to equitable teaching and learning opportunities for all students, dedicated to their success and that of their families and community.
  • Create a learning environment where students can develop resilience, personal agency, and a commitment to their education and future.
  • Design and implement engaging lesson plans for in-person learning.
  • Facilitate students' mastery of academic standards through long-term planning, daily and weekly lesson plans, and the execution of rigorous and engaging daily instruction.
  • Collaborate with ACE Learning Specialists to support a full-inclusion model of Special Education.
  • Establish a warm yet firm classroom culture through consistent implementation of behavior management strategies.
  • Celebrate both student growth and proficiency.
  • Integrate coaching feedback consistently.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.
  • Approach professional development with commitment and reflection.

Education & Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Successful completion of the CTC Basic Skills Requirement and Subject Matter Competency Requirement.
  • California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Certificate of Clearance (COC) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Preliminary or Clear California Teaching Credential or current/eligible enrollment in a CTC-approved program.
  • English Learner Authorization Certificate - CLAD/BCLAD or equivalent.
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred but not required.
