We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer I to join our team at Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU). As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing database infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities- Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement IaC templates using Terraform to automate Postgres database infrastructure provisioning across development, performance, training, and production environments.
- Database Migration and Management: Manage database object migrations between environments using IaC pipelines, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
- Collaboration and Optimization: Collaborate with application developers to optimize SQL queries and indexes for peak performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Automated Database Management: Utilize Terraform and scripting to automate routine database management tasks, such as creating and dropping databases, tables, indexes, constraints, triggers, scheduling backups and recovery procedures, and monitoring database performance.
- Experience: 1-3 years of Database Administration or related work experience, with a background in physical database design and administration with PostgreSQL and MS-SQL or any open source database.
- Cloud Experience: Exposure to Cloud-based technologies, such as AWS/Azure.
- Education: A four-year degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience in maintaining and designing Infrastructure as Code.
