Position Overview:


The Enrollment Management division at UCLA is dedicated to ensuring that prospective students receive an exceptional experience at every interaction throughout the recruitment, admission, and enrollment journey.

This division provides comprehensive services to assist students from initial interest through to graduation, encompassing application processes, enrollment support, and retention strategies. Additionally, they offer vital information regarding recruitment, financial assistance, and scholarship opportunities to students, families, counselors, and community organizations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in systems analysis and design within student information systems for mainframe and computer systems, including defining system requirements and program specifications, preparing detailed documentation, specifying and designing inputs and outputs, conducting cost-benefit analyses, recommending modifications to existing programs, and evaluating vendor systems.   • Ability to create functional designs that utilize standard methodologies, are technically robust, feature strong controls (security and audit), and result in maintainable and comprehensible systems. (Essential)
  • Proficient in drafting concise, logical, and grammatically correct analytical reports, project proposals, and user/technical documentation, alongside skills in systems problem-solving with minimal notice. (Essential)
  • Capability to deliver oral presentations to persuade others towards a specific viewpoint or action, and to provide information or clarify procedures and policies. Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal supervision. (Essential)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and develop project plans and timelines. Skill in estimating time and effort required for software tasks and projects. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with Administrators, Technical Support, Users, and other staff members. (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of relational database theory and systems, MS SQL Server, and SQL. (Essential)
  • Familiarity with client/server technology, particularly in relation to WWW clients accessing mainframe data. (Essential)
  • Proficient in Web-based, database-driven application development, including identifying suitable business procedures for a Web platform and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft suite of applications including Word, Excel, and Access. (Essential)
  • Working knowledge of standard mainframe programming languages and operating system software, including JCL, COBOL, Utilities, TSO/ISPF. (Essential)
  • Ability to write maintainable code that meets user specifications and is completed within scheduled deadlines. (Essential)
  • Experience in the design, development, maintenance, and implementation of large complex enterprise databases using data modeling techniques. (Essential)
  • Familiarity with Slate CRM, knowledge of UCLA student systems (UID, SIS, Student Finance), and their interrelationships with Undergraduate Admission systems, along with understanding UC Admission policies, practices, and standards. (Essential)
