Job Opportunity

WestLAND Group, a leading civil engineering, geospatial, and land planning firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Accounting Assistant to join their Finance Department. As a key member of the team, you will provide administrative and accounting support to ensure the smooth operation of project finances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client databases, electronic filing systems, and accounting records.
  • Develop proficiency in Smart Sheets software and apply analytical skills to project accounting activities and measurements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to review timecards, expenses, and other accounting activities.
  • Train in weekly timecard review and reconciliation, client contract review for billing requirements, and generating accurate client invoices.
  • Ensure receipts for project expenses and reimbursements are complete and accurate.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting as scheduled or requested.
  • Verify transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred).
  • 2+ years of accounting support experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and software.
  • Intermediate Excel and proficiency in MS Office (highly desired).
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and programs.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize concurrent projects and deadlines.
