About the Role:

We are seeking an Event Host and Guest Service Coordinator to join our team at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, MN. This is a casual labor, seasonal position that requires flexibility with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Job Summary:

The Event Host and Guest Service Coordinator will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, ensuring seamless event execution, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and provide event information in a friendly and professional manner
  • Responsible for scanning guest's tickets as they enter the building and escorting guests to their sections/seats
  • Monitor aisles/ steps in assigned section to ensure clear passage and compliance with fire codes
  • Enforce facility policies, including no smoking and no re-entry
  • Proactively approach guests with questions or concerns, creatively resolving issues up to the level of supervisor intervention
  • Identify and respond to emergencies, involving Security or Supervisors as necessary
  • Remain calm and direct guests to designated areas of safety in case of an emergency

Working Conditions:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time, climb stairs in restricted lighting, and move quickly between areas safely
  • Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, with casual labor, seasonal scheduling

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills and ability to greet guests in a friendly manner
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; one year prior experience in customer service role desired
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure, stand, walk, and climb stairs for duration of shift (typically 4-6 hours)
  • May be exposed to adverse weather conditions
