Job Summary:

The Business Education Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Accounting and Business Lab operations, supervising and mentoring Lab tutors, creating materials to facilitate student learning, managing budgets for STEP and TAP tutors, collaborating with faculty to support accounting, economics, finance, and other business courses, and assisting students with homework exercises and problem solving.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lab Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounting and Business Lab, ensuring a productive and efficient learning environment.
  • Tutor Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor Lab tutors, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to assist students effectively.
  • Curriculum Development: Create materials to facilitate student learning, including lesson plans, study guides, and other educational resources.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets for STEP and TAP tutors, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Faculty Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty to support accounting, economics, finance, and other business courses, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience.
  • Student Support: Assist students with homework exercises and problem solving, providing individualized support to ensure academic success.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's degree in business or a related field.
  • Accounting Knowledge: 6 semester credit hours in accounting or equivalent experience.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Business Acumen: Strong knowledge of accounting and business principles, including financial management, marketing, and operations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Confidentiality and Professionalism: Ability to work in a confidential and professional manner, maintaining the trust and respect of students and colleagues.
Work Environment:

This position involves light work with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds. It requires frequent communication with students and faculty, operating office machinery, and working in an indoor lab setting. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, is required.
