Columbus Technical College is looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a full-time educator in the Practical Nursing (PN) program. This role encompasses responsibilities for classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction within the PN curriculum. The selected candidate will be tasked with creating lesson plans, assessing student progress towards their educational objectives, participating in departmental nursing meetings, and engaging in professional development activities such as workshops and seminars. Additionally, it is essential to ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols in training environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction to students enrolled in the Practical Nursing program.
  • Adhere to state standards while developing course outlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress in achieving educational goals.
  • Manage inventory and maintain necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Innovate teaching methodologies and uphold effective management practices and documentation.
  • Collaborate with students, colleagues, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and address any challenges affecting student success.
  • Ensure that safety and security standards are upheld in all training areas.
  • Respond efficiently to administrative inquiries.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with program certification requirements as necessary.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Possess keen observation, supervision, and evaluation skills.
  • Have a general understanding of computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Engage in professional organizations and activities.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed registered nurse within the last seven (7) years.
  • A current Georgia or eNLC Registered Professional Nurse License in good standing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience in teaching at the post-secondary level.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, sick leave, and participation in the State of Georgia Retirement and Health Benefits Program.
