Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Lead Civil Engineering Specialist, you will take charge of the design and coordination of infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and utility installations for both public and private sector clients.
  • Your role will involve working closely with various departments within the organization to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects and exceptional service.
  • Specific duties will encompass performing design calculations, generating quantity and cost estimates, and preparing detailed project plans.
  • You will be responsible for compiling, drafting, and refining technical documentation, including feasibility studies, reports, correspondence, and project specifications.
  • Assisting with project proposals, budget management, scheduling, and public engagement activities will also be part of your responsibilities.
  • Additionally, you will supervise the work of Engineering Interns and Technicians.

In this role, you may also serve as a Deputy Project Manager, collaborating with Senior Project Managers to plan, oversee, and coordinate project activities, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. This includes maintaining regular communication with clients, managing project schedules and budgets, and coordinating with subconsultants, providing a pathway to advance into Project Management.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of 7 years of experience in transportation engineering or a similar discipline. Experience with TxDOT projects is preferred.
  • You should have the capability to interpret and create construction plans and technical documents, along with a solid understanding of design software, particularly Microstation.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Preferred candidates will hold an ND PE license or demonstrate the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
  • Strong communication skills and a dedicated work ethic are essential for success in this position.
