Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer to join our team at Houston Engineering, Inc. as a Senior Engineer. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of transportation projects from design through construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development: Grow and expand transportation services and clients in the state by identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic plans to achieve growth.
  • Project Management: Effectively lead and manage activities and people on specific projects, ensuring timely completion and meeting client expectations.
  • Design and Engineering: Ensure that designs are in accordance with federal, city, and DOT specifications, and oversee the preparation of detailed engineering analyses, schedules, and technical reports.
  • Team Leadership: Create and foster a project team culture of superior service for the customer, and lead by example to promote a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer license in the applicable state or the ability to obtain license within 6 months
  • 8+ years of experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects preferred
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills
  • Working knowledge of project team roles and responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally
