Position Overview: Ensure the precision and reliability of financial records and statements by documenting and validating accounting transactions while maintaining and reconciling essential General Ledger accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting activities for Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Intangibles, Other Assets, Accruals, Other Liabilities, and Debt, ensuring accurate postings to the relevant General Ledger accounts.
  • Manage cash reporting and bank account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting Department and internal stakeholders to guarantee precise accruals and General Ledger account distributions throughout the month.
  • Ensure reconciliation of intercompany transactions and balances for critical General Ledger areas.
  • Execute the month-end closing process by preparing and posting journal entries and conducting timely analysis and reconciliation of General Ledger accounts with minimal supervision, adhering strictly to the closing schedule.
  • Review Financial Statement positions for Cash, Prepaid Expenses, Intangibles, Other Assets, Accruals, Other Liabilities, and Debt for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards (US GAAP).
  • Develop and maintain supplementary schedules related to key General Ledger areas.
  • Assist in the year-end external financial audit, ensuring compliance with the closing schedule.
  • As necessary, oversee accounting processes, including month-end closing, for any small acquisitions not yet integrated into the company ERP.
  • Coordinate with the Accounting Manager and Controller for information required to prepare and file various local, state, and federal taxes, including sales tax, use tax, and workers' compensation.
  • Proactively identify and implement enhancements to internal controls and accounting processes to boost integrity, accuracy, efficiency, and productivity, leveraging standardization and ERP systems.
  • Act as a secondary backup to other Accounting Associates as needed; perform additional duties and special projects as required.
Training: Provided on-the-job and supplemented with external seminars/classes.

Qualifications:
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of prior work experience; strong accounting skills; familiarity with US GAAP reporting fundamentals is advantageous.
Key Competencies: Self-motivated and results-oriented, strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, capacity to manage multiple tasks, high degree of integrity and confidentiality, initiative in decision-making, teamwork, and collaboration.

Physical Requirements: Extended periods of sitting or standing at a workstation, significant computer usage.

Working Conditions: Temperature-controlled office environment.
