As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will collaborate closely with the Controller to support all facets of Abeona's financial and accounting operations.


Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, along with other internal reporting obligations, including the preparation of necessary journal entries.
- Oversee account reconciliations, which encompass bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and various other assignments.

- Liaise with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits, participate in compliance activities, and review schedules pertinent to the reporting processes.

- Maintain the fixed asset ledger, perform reconciliations, and manage quarterly journal entries related to depreciation.

- Handle banking operations, which include monitoring previous day balances, addressing any fraud alerts from the bank, updating daily cash files, transferring funds for anticipated payments, preparing and maintaining records of bank transactions, and conducting monthly bank reconciliations.

- Manage monthly and quarterly accounts receivable customer invoices and deposits.
- Review accounts payable transactions and provide ad-hoc support for vendor inquiries.

- Offer user support for accounting systems (Netsuite), which includes training new users, navigating and troubleshooting within Netsuite, and generating saved searches and necessary reports.

- Manage systems for Concur, including setting up new users and maintaining roles, users, and managers, as well as providing ad hoc training and assistance.
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
- Undertake ad-hoc tasks and special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- At least 3 years of professional experience in accounting, with a preference for public accounting experience
- Strong skills in general accounting and reconciliations
- Experience with financial reporting software
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proven capability to handle highly confidential information
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with various disciplines and levels
- Detail-oriented approach
