About Dawn To Dusk Child Development Center
We are a licensed childcare facility with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) for the District of Columbia. Established in 1967, we strive to provide High-Quality Early Childhood Education to families in the Ward 8 community.
Our two locations offer a developmentally appropriate, culturally diverse learning environment, serving children ages three months to 12 years. One of our two locations has a Non-Traditional program open until midnight, Monday - Friday.
We dedicate ourselves to serving the needs of young children through Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP), promoting the growth of all children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language skills and problem-solving.
Job Summary:
We seek dedicated and creative individuals to lead our Preschool and Infant Classrooms as a Lead Teacher. As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment for all children in the classroom.
You will build and maintain positive relationships with families and colleagues, using Creative Curriculum to design and execute age-appropriate educational programs that are developmentally appropriate.
You will regularly update parents on their child's progress and engage them in the educational process, creating and supporting family engagement activities.
Requirements:
- Have an A.A. degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or an A.A. degree or higher with at least 12 credits in Early Childhood Development.
- Have five years of professional teaching experience (preferred) or three years of professional teaching experience (required).
- Be fully vaccinated or willing to obtain vaccination against COVID-19 (required).
- Have an updated health certificate and TB test or willing to obtain.
- Drug and alcohol testing - mandatory upon employment.
- Pass background and fingerprinting check.
- Have the ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Commit to furthering your education and training.
- Have CPR Certification (preferred).
- Have a Child Development Certificate (CDA) (preferred).
