About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Montessori Lead Educator to join our team at Breakthrough Montessori Public Charter School in Washington, DC.

Job Summary:

The Montessori Lead Educator will be responsible for creating a structured, student-centered learning environment that fosters the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students. This includes planning and implementing lessons, managing classroom activities, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a high-quality educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Montessori curriculum and meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Prepare and maintain a well-organized and engaging learning environment that promotes independence and self-directed learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver effective instructional strategies and support student growth
  • Maintain accurate records and assess student progress
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families to keep them informed about student progress and engage them in their child's education
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current on best practices in Montessori education
  • Supervise and support teaching assistants and other staff members as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; AMI or AMS Montessori Primary diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Montessori education, preferably in a public school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $60,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 403(b) retirement plan.
