Field Service Technician (RS)
The Field Service Technician (FST) is responsible for delivering both on-site and remote assistance for Rad Source products, addressing the technical needs of our clientele. This role involves collaborating with Customer Support Representatives to troubleshoot equipment issues, guiding customers on equipment usage, fostering strong customer relationships, and adhering to company protocols. Additionally, the FST will generate reports on service calls and utilize the company database for task management.
We are in search of a motivated and experienced Field Service Technician, ideally with expertise in X-ray devices and familiarity with both low and high voltage systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to enhance your skills while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction globally. If you have a passion for diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical devices and providing outstanding customer service, this role is tailored for you.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and perform installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of Rad Source Systems, both remotely and in the field.
- Effectively diagnose technical challenges, implement standard resolution methods, and consistently repair equipment using available testing tools.
- Assemble, install, and evaluate electrical and mechanical components of Rad Source's industrial units, including medical devices at client locations.
- Engage positively with customers during installations, warranty and service repairs, upgrades, preventive maintenance visits, and equipment trials.
- Provide training to ensure proper operation of Rad Source Systems.
- Document all tasks performed, manage parts, supplies, tools, testing equipment, and technical literature by completing service reports accurately and promptly.
- Coordinate on-site schedules as directed by management, aligning with customer expectations.
- Maintain technician inventory, recording and returning necessary materials efficiently.
- Adhere to safety regulations and policies.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role servicing complex electrical and mechanical equipment; a degree in electronics is advantageous.
- Prior experience in biomedical, level 1 or 2 imaging is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with high and low voltage systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Proficient in using basic hand tools and electrical meters.
- Physically capable of bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, squatting, standing, and walking.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with limited assistance.
- Possess a clean motor vehicle record and reliable transportation.
- Successful candidates must pass a background check, including credit and drug tests.
- Excellent time management skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to attend training sessions.
- Availability to travel Monday through Friday, including potential overnight stays.
- Participation in an incentive-based on-call rotation, including weekends.
