Senior Care Specialist - LPN/RN

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN/RN to join our team at Freedom Pointe at The Villages. As a Senior Care Specialist, you will provide direct nursing care to our residents and work collaboratively with our Quality-of-Life Specialists/Resident Assistants to ensure the highest level of care.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, documenting treatment records, and monitoring resident conditions.
  • Delegate and supervise the care provided by our Quality-of-Life Specialists/Resident Assistants.
  • Count and sign off on narcotics at the beginning and end of shift.
  • Pass medications, documenting on Medication Administration Record (MAR), and notify the Director of Nursing of any incomplete documentation.
  • Apply treatments, lotions, dressings, etc. as needed, documenting in treatment record.
  • Document on residents per protocol.
  • Notify family and physicians of change in resident condition and as necessary.
  • Monitor dining room during meals, ensuring all necessary staff are present.
  • Replenish supplies for the medicine cart, medicine room, and resident rooms.
Requirements:
  • Valid NC or compact state LPN/RN license with no substantial findings of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property.
  • Minimum of 3 months' experience as a LPN/RN, preferably with elderly care.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
  • Ability to observe changes in resident's condition and act accordingly.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, patience, tact, and courtesy in dealing with employees, residents, family, visitors, and volunteers.
  • Ability to supervise staff and maintain good working relationships among personnel.
  • Ability to cooperate with other health professionals and coordinate efforts toward maximum resident care.
  • Ability to recognize problems, make decisions, and solve problems.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situations.
