Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Continuing Care Resource Team on a full-time night shift basis. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care and assist with planning and implementing care for the comfort and well-being of patients/residents.
  • Administer medications safely and per policy, including oral, sublingual, topical, subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular medications.
  • Assist with admissions and discharges, and assist physicians as needed with rounds or procedures.
  • Perform infusion of various intravenous products, including peripheral and central venous routes.
  • Prepare IV fluids for administration, change IV tubing, and adjust IV rates.
  • Administer IV medications via secondary routes and/or intermittent devices, with the exception of investigational drugs.
  • Change dressing to peripheral/central venous IV sites and implanted ports.
  • Perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples or start IVs, when competency is completed.
  • Discontinue IV therapy and remove IV catheters that do not exceed 1 inch in length.
  • Administer blood/blood products as witnessed by a RN.
  • Observe, report, and document signs of injury, infiltration, and/or inflammation at the injection site.
  • Assist with complex sterile procedures.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing required.
  • Current North Carolina LPN licensure required.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • 3 years nursing experience in an acute care or rehabilitation facility required.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, supervisory skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and knowledge of federal and state regulations governing clinical care, nursing practice, and leadership.
Physical Requirements

Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stopping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 51 pounds in handling patients, residents, medical equipment, and supplies.

Must be able to respond quickly to changes in the patient and/or unit conditions.
