KPMG is currently in search of a Senior Consultant to join our Federal Advisory team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and analyze financial risks, reporting, and accounting transaction processes, including controls pertinent to federal entities.
  • Conduct research and offer guidance to clients regarding the application of federal standards, policies, regulations, and technical directives.
  • Identify and recommend corrective measures for reconciliation challenges related to posting logic, USSGL compliance, A-136, and areas within financial management for enhancement.
  • Support engagements by generating reports, executing reconciliations, and addressing inquiries from auditors.
  • Investigate and propose solutions for accounting challenges, methodologies, and their implications on financial statements.
  • Perform intricate accounting analyses of transactions and balances associated with financial statements and trial balances.
  • Contribute to the design, preparation, and analysis of reports and findings in a clear, logical, and concise manner.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in federal financial management, reporting, auditing, or audit readiness.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certifications are preferred.
  • Experience in the preparation, review, and analysis of financial statements for U.S. Federal government entities; familiarity with the USSGL.
  • Knowledge of FASAB, Treasury, GAO, and OMB regulations.
  • Experience in analyzing financial and systems processes and controls.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support firm engagements.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, along with an active U.S. Federal government Secret security clearance.
