About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Federal Project Manager to join our team in the Central Civil Works Department. As a Senior Federal Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all phases of projects, from proposal to close-out, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of projects, including proposal, planning, execution, and close-out.
  • Develop and manage project work plans, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor and manage project production to ensure compliance with schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
  • Adhere to AECOM and federal/client quality control and safety planning and requirements.
  • Develop and manage subcontractor scopes and bid sheets, and follow the FAR in subcontractor selection process.
  • Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions with a strong understanding of the impact and implications of decisions.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
  • Advises/mentors less experienced staff on project management skills and mentors staff interested in project management as their Deputy Project Managers.
  • Oversees design staff and team members for civil works, flood risk reduction, and CSRM projects in completion of alternatives analysis, value engineering, plans, specifications, Design Documentation Reports, and Opinions of Probable Cost.
  • Identifies new business opportunities for AECOM, coordinates and participates in project presentations to clients and other external groups, promotes AECOM's capabilities, marketing its services among existing and prospective clients, and assists in the technical write ups and strategies for TORN responses and Statements of Qualifications for MATOC/SATOC/IDIQ/IDC pursuits.
  • Coordinates and participates in contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors and drafts complex professional service agreements and addenda for review by senior management.
  • Monitors and reports financial status of projects to upper management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 20+ years of professional experience, 10+ of those years as a project manager or deputy project manager for large, complex federal projects.
