Power Electronics Controls Engineer

Life Cycle Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Controls Engineer to join our team in Philadelphia, PA. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the development and testing of cutting-edge Advanced Electrical Power Systems for the next generation of US Navy ships.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, test, and troubleshoot power electronics systems and components.
- Develop and implement real-time control software for power systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power electronics systems with other shipboard systems.
- Provide technical expertise and support for system installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Conduct risk assessments and analysis using modeling and simulation techniques.
- Prepare technical presentations and briefings for design reviews and other technical venues.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in power electronics and controls engineering.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, dynamics, and real-time control software.
- Experience working with power distribution, 3-phase power systems, generation systems, AC/DC drives, and controllers.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience with motor drives, medium voltage switchgear, protective relaying, cabling, and solid-state power conversion.
- Experience working with the U.S. Navy or similar organizations.
- Knowledge of CMMI and industrial automation and controls.
