Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify optimal solutions for the transportation of incoming and outgoing goods and raw materials.
- Facilitate the tendering process for inbound and outbound shipments to various carriers.
- Analyze transportation methods including trucking, rail, intermodal, and other options.
- Gather and assess shipping rates to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Recognize administrative requirements and formulate suitable solutions or recommendations.
- Conduct research and analytical evaluations, preparing reports that encompass cost analyses, comparative financial data, and informational insights to substantiate findings.
- Perform cost/benefit analyses and assessments of operational processes and resource utilization.
- Explore methods to enhance work measurements or performance benchmarks.
- Review and respond to correspondence as necessary.
- Serve as a liaison between carriers and operational facilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year institution.
Proficient in reading and understanding basic instructions, brief correspondence, and memos. Capable of drafting simple communications.
Adept at presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to clients, customers, and colleagues.
Competent in mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
Familiarity with database software, internet applications, manufacturing software, order processing systems, as well as spreadsheet and word processing tools.
