Fiscal Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Fiscal Tech. This role will provide financial support and services to drive the business operations of the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide financial support and services to include maintaining, calculating, researching, validating, and performing data input for various accounting transactions.
- Interpret basic policy and procedures.
- Perform data entry into automated financial systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and business principles.
- Experience with file management, including purging and disposing of files in accordance with records retention guidelines and schedules.
- Prepare financial reports and run queries.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
- Experience performing data entry into automated financial systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting, math, and business principles.
- Experience interpreting and applying basic policy, procedures, and implementing procedural and transactional changes.
- Knowledge of office and program support activities.
- Experience applying knowledge of GAAP, government accounting, internal controls, inventory, and compliance.
- Exceptional customer service skills or ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal/external customers and vendors.
- Knowledge and experience processing accounts payable.
- Knowledge and experience performing account reconciliations and tracking time/attendance.
