Chesapeake Beverage is on the lookout for a dedicated Procurement Coordinator to oversee the purchasing operations for a significant portion of our supplier network. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting effective procurement strategies, nurturing strong relationships with suppliers, collaborating with internal departments to address their supply requirements, and managing inventory for designated suppliers.
To excel in this role, the Procurement Coordinator must efficiently manage and enhance purchasing processes. An exceptional candidate will possess strong leadership skills and demonstrate effective communication with our suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and execute orders for a diverse range of suppliers.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent excess stock while minimizing shortages.
- Evaluate previous sales data and current market trends to determine appropriate order quantities.
- Utilize various supplier platforms and order forms to place orders.
- Collaborate with supplier representatives and internal pricing teams to integrate products into our systems.
- Act as the primary contact for suppliers regarding order discrepancies and claims.
- Monitor product expiration dates and advise the sales management team on inventory risks.
- Serve as the logistical liaison for suppliers.
- Coordinate internal logistics for product pickups.
- Generate and process inventory forecasts and sales reports for suppliers and the internal sales team.
- Input purchase orders accurately.
- Track order statuses to ensure prompt delivery.
- Update the sales team on order progress.
- Manage the transfer of products from the warehouse.
- Keep the sales team informed about out-of-stock items and their expected restock dates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Accounting, or Financial Business is preferred.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining organization and ensuring timely project completion.
- Detail-oriented with a low error rate.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Flexibility to respond to urgent requests from management while thriving under pressure to meet deadlines.
