About the Position

Clemson University's College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the Foundational Sciences Lead. This is a full-time faculty position that will play a vital role in developing and implementing the DVM Foundational Sciences curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and deliver the Foundational Sciences curriculum, ensuring alignment with the overall competency-based curriculum.
  • Develop assessment strategies to evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with other unit leads to integrate knowledge and skills across courses and years, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience.
  • Oversee the management and collection of data essential for academic planning, program assessment, and program improvement.
  • Lead research and scholarship initiatives to improve educational outcomes in students, with a focus on innovative and evidence-based practices.
  • Organize and train faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to deliver content and provide assessments, ensuring a high level of expertise and professionalism.
  • Serve on CVM and campus committees as appointed or elected, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that support the college's mission and goals.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant field, with a strong background in veterinary medicine or a related field.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, teaching, and assessment, with a focus on competency-based education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
