Clemson University is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Operations Center Manager to lead our team in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and implement monitoring, detection, investigation, and incident response procedures.
  • Document processes and procedures, automate playbooks, and allocate resources to address identified risks and priorities.
  • Lead and direct daily CSOC operations and personnel activities, ensuring events and incidents are detected and responded to in accordance with established processes and timelines.
  • Provide leadership guidance and mentoring to CSOC staff, maintaining a positive work environment that fosters innovation and collaboration.
  • Oversee the activity of the CSOC team, including hiring, training, mentoring, and assessing staff, as well as coordinating team scheduling and managing project deadlines and resource allocation.
  • Serve as an incident manager for the CSOC, leading staff to proactively identify, respond, prevent, and mitigate security incidents, and ensuring all CSOC processes and procedures are documented and published.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or a related field, with relevant experience in information technology systems or a related area.
  • Experience working in two or more of the following areas: security monitoring and intrusion detection, network protocols and secure network design, operating system internals and hardening methods, web application and browser security, security assessments and penetration testing, authentication and access control, applied cryptography and security protocols, incident response and forensics, and development of security tools, automation, or frameworks.
  • CISSP, GIAC, or OSCP certification is preferred.
