Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of our Security team, you will:

  • Support the Medical Center Administration in implementing its protection initiatives, ensuring a safe and secure environment that promotes quality patient care.
  • Uphold all established policies and procedures of the Medical Center and the Safety and Security Department, focusing on physical and procedural security to protect personnel and prevent unauthorized access to sensitive areas and materials.
  • Safeguard equipment, facilities, and documents against theft and damage.

Compensation Information:
The hourly compensation for this role is $23.87. Please note that the compensation range provided complies with New York State law regarding salary transparency in job advertisements. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other forms of compensation and benefits. Various factors may influence the final compensation, including location, experience, education, and internal equity.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completion of the New York State Eight Hour Pre-assignment Training Course and the Sixteen Hour On-The-Job Training Course is highly preferred. A valid NYS Security Guard License is also preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in the security field or law enforcement is preferred.

Certifications: Must be registered with the Security Guard Registry in Albany. A valid driver's license without violations that meet insurance criteria is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is necessary, along with attendance at the hospital crisis training program within three months of hire or transfer, and annually thereafter.

Physical Requirements:
Responsibilities may involve light to heavy physical activity based on job demands and emergency situations. Candidates must be capable of enduring physical tasks such as standing, walking, running, and potentially engaging in physical confrontations.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated environment with minimal exposure to hazards. Duties may require both indoor and outdoor work, including extended periods outside for specific assignments. Adherence to all Medical Center and Infection Control policies regarding safety and protective measures is mandatory.
