Overview

Objective of the IT Infrastructure Manager

The primary goal is to oversee the IT Infrastructure team in formulating and sustaining strategies through research, recommendations, and the implementation of advanced technological solutions. This role involves providing expert guidance and sharing insights on technical concepts and innovative technologies. The manager will lead a team comprising staff, vendors, and consultants to ensure that technology-driven solutions align with both current and future business requirements.



Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the IT Infrastructure Manager

1. Deliver systems support and services, including business applications, data-driven solutions, project execution, and strategic planning services to meet the needs of all divisions within the organization.

2. Strategically plan, recommend, and execute departmental budgets, training programs, operational policies, standards, procedures, workflows, staffing levels, and facility requirements to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.

3. Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with contract and vendor management concerning various hardware, software, and services related to information technology.

4. Monitor the performance and adequacy of all hardware and software components, making recommendations to ensure the availability of essential components for meeting production service objectives.

5. Build collaborative partnerships with business and technical peers, fostering effective relationships with counterparts in other organizations.

6. Facilitate clear communication and interaction with business and technical partners regarding projects, challenges, business requirements, system service, availability, and resource coordination.

7. Contribute to the corporate planning process by providing insights on resources, requirements, and time estimates as necessary.

8. Develop annual budgets for the acquisition and maintenance of infrastructure necessary to support business functions across the organization, ensuring adherence to acquisition standards and expenditure policies.

9. Manage and coordinate the activities of Infrastructure staff by tracking project status, identifying issues, allocating resources, and ensuring timely completion of technical support services at the highest quality standards.

10. Select, train, motivate, and evaluate department personnel in accordance with company policies, establishing performance objectives and professional development goals.

11. Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to oversee troubleshooting, system maintenance, backups, archiving, and disaster recovery, providing expert support as needed.

12. Establish procedures to evaluate the causes and impacts of mainframe, network, storage, and server issues, ensuring on-call coverage and timely responses to problems.

13. Recommend and engage in resource measurement and capacity planning activities to optimize performance and ensure future capacity requirements are met.

14. Stay informed about key systems and business practices, continually analyzing industry trends and developments to assist the organization in achieving its objectives.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications for the IT Infrastructure Manager

- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field is required, or equivalent experience may be considered.

- A minimum of one to three years of management experience is required.

- Three to five years of experience with information technology concepts, techniques, and processes is essential.

Note: This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring candidates to reside in Michigan or be willing to relocate.
