Job Summary

Under the supervision of a physician, the Cardiovascular Technologist II assists in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail, with a focus on providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing diagnostic catheterization and interventional procedures.

Job Duties
  • Performs scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with minimal assistance.
  • Records cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy.
  • Maintains ECG set up and rhythm monitoring.
  • Maintains basic hemodynamic set up and waveform monitoring.
  • Assists in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe and effective care of patient.
  • Performs required checks on all safety equipment.
  • Ensures adequate supplies present to perform procedures.
  • Transports patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
Requirements
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year. Graduation from an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program; or equivalent education and/or experience and RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required; or Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology and one year of radiologic experience.
