Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist II to join our team at MUSC Health & Medical University of SC. As a Cardiovascular Technologist II, you will assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive procedure arena. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for performing scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with minimal assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with minimal assistance.
  • Record cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and left and right heart catheterization hemodynamics with accuracy.
  • Monitor procedure and document inventory used and order of events appropriately in MacLab event log.
  • Assist in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe and effective care of patient.
  • Perform required checks on all safety equipment and ensure adequate supplies are present to perform procedures.
  • Transport patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.


Requirements:
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year.
