Polysomnography Technologist II

Job Summary
As a Polysomnography Technologist II at Prisma Health, you will perform advanced polysomnographic testing procedures, including setting up and initiating sleep-related therapies. You will work independently to perform procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental policy. Your expertise will be essential in scoring sleep study procedures and providing patient education.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and score sleep study procedures, including home sleep testing, in accordance with physician orders and departmental policy.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment within your realm of knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and managers regarding patient, equipment, and other issues.
- Obtain patient consent and document patient education for home sleep studies.
- Initiate, monitor, and perform quality sleep studies.
- Adhere to department time and attendance standards and infection control practices.
- Assist with employee education and orientation of new employees and serve as a preceptor for students.
- Meet average scoring volume requirements and inter-scorer reliability goals established by the Medical Director.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent experience.
- Two years of polysomnographic work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- RPSGT credential by BRPT and/or Respiratory Care Practitioner in SC with CRT-SDS or RRT-SDS credential by the NBRC.
Work Environment
This position is located at the Greenville Memorial Med Campus and requires a night shift schedule.
