Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist I to join our team at the Medical University of South Carolina. As a key member of our invasive procedure arena, you will assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization, and right and left heart catheterization with no assistance.
  • Assist in preparation of room with fellow staff members for safe, effective care of patient.
  • Perform required checks on all safety equipment.
  • Ensure adequate supplies present to perform procedures.
  • Transport patients alone or accompanied by a fellow staff member.
Requirements
  • RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or RT(R)CI certification required within the first 2 years of hire and must be maintained.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within three (3) months of hire and thereafter maintained.
