Financial Operations Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Operations Assistant to join our team at SG Services, Inc. This is an entry-level role where the successful candidate will have some accounting exposure and knowledge, outstanding Excel and data manipulation capabilities, and the ability to juggle tasks simultaneously.
The ideal candidate will support the accounting team with day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger management, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting the accounts payable function, while ensuring GAAP compliant accounting records.
Key Responsibilities- Accounts Payable Support: Review and reconcile all domestic and international vendor shipping bills, ensuring accurate and timely coding in the general ledger. Ensure all vendor data is accurate and regularly updated in the general ledger. Assist with the onboarding of new vendors into the general ledger. Review aging reports regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Bank Account Reconciliation: Reconcile all bank accounts monthly to maintain accurate financial reporting.
- Corporate Credit Card Program: Support the corporate credit card program, including monthly recording and reconciling of U.S. and international credit card transactions.
- Intercompany: Ensure the accuracy of intercompany accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Cash: Accurately record all cash transactions in the general ledger.
- Tax Compliance Support: Assist in the monthly preparation of U.S. Sales tax and international VAT returns. Support the annual preparation and filing of 1099 forms.
- Journal Entries & Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Assist the accounting team in preparing journal entries. Support the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP)
- Be adept with large, complex data sets
