Your Role

The Clinical Pharmacy Operations division is dedicated to the formulation, execution, coordination, and evaluation of pharmacy strategies aimed at delivering high-quality and cost-effective care to members of Blue Shield of California. The Experienced Business Analyst will report directly to the Senior Pharmacist Manager within the Clinical Pharmacy Operations team. In this capacity, you will analyze Clinical Pharmacy Program processes utilizing data from various sources and provide insights to management and other stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Offer analytical assistance through the examination and interpretation of data to support cross-departmental business functions.
  • Evaluate actual outcomes against planned objectives and forecasts, recommending actions as necessary.
  • Create, prepare, and assess reports for management evaluation, presenting findings at different management levels.
  • Conduct performance monitoring, maintain KPI dashboards, and propose enhancements to boost operational efficiency as needed.
  • Gather and articulate business requirements, develop business cases for new initiatives, including cost-benefit analyses.
  • Contribute to the formulation of annual operational plans, capital budgets, and forecasts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in relevant fields of work, collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve consensus.
  • Assist in the development or adjustment of Clinical Pharmacy Program processes, including the analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and updating existing systems.
  • Independently manage complex projects and assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • At least 3 years of pharmacy experience in managed care is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment is crucial.

This range reflects the compensation for this and numerous other roles at Blue Shield that fall within this pay grade. Salaries at Blue Shield are determined by various factors, including the candidate's experience, location, and current employee salaries for similar positions.
