About the Role
The Medicare team at Blue Shield of California is responsible for driving membership growth, profitability, and performance optimization, while ensuring a superior customer experience for the Medicare line of business. As a Strategic Planning and Performance Consultant - Medicare, you will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Planning and Performance, and play a critical role in supporting the success of the Medicare operating model.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead key initiatives to achieve key goals and drive performance governance activities
- Support employee engagement, communications, and leadership activities to connect the dots between Medicare goals and cross-functional work and priorities
- Collaborate to lead end-to-end strategic partnership development and establish and manage overarching vendor oversight for Medicare in support of critical goals
- Plan and implement moderately complex projects to drive business results
- Recommend effective action plans based on key business issues and implement to successful conclusion
- Facilitate the annual strategic planning process to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Assist financial partners to complete business planning and forecasting, and oversee budget planning as part of the annual budget cycle
- Identify and resolve gaps in processes and oversight to ensure achievement of Medicare goals and targets
- Drive departmental projects to benefit Medicare, including those that support Medicare growth, profitability, performance optimization, and customer experience
- Support monitoring and optimizing Medicare performance by leading preparations for key Medicare performance governance meetings, and collaborate with functional area partners to ensure their priorities are in line with Medicare priorities
- Build, implement, and manage an overarching, end-to-end vendor management governance model for the Medicare line of business to ensure vendor partners continuously meet compliance, contractual, and experience expectations
