Your Role

The Clinical Pharmacy Operations team is dedicated to the creation, execution, coordination, and evaluation of pharmacy initiatives aimed at delivering high-quality and cost-effective care to members of Blue Shield of California. The Experienced Business Analyst will work under the guidance of the Senior Pharmacist Manager within the Clinical Pharmacy Operations team. In this capacity, you will analyze Clinical Pharmacy Program processes utilizing data from various sources and provide insights to management and other stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Offer analytical support through the evaluation and interpretation of data to enhance cross-functional business operations
  • Assess actual outcomes against planned objectives and forecasts, recommending actions as necessary
  • Create, prepare, and evaluate reports for management assessment, presenting findings at different management levels
  • Monitor performance, maintain KPI dashboards, and propose enhancements to boost operational efficiency as needed
  • Gather and define business requirements, constructing business cases for new initiatives, including cost/benefit evaluations
  • Contribute to the formulation of annual operating plans, capital budgets, and forecasts
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in relevant domains, collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve alignment
  • Assist in the development or modification of Clinical Pharmacy Program processes, including analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and updating existing systems
  • Independently manage complex projects and assignments with minimal supervision
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary

Your Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is necessary
  • At least 3 years of pharmacy experience in managed care is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Experience in a fast-paced work environment is preferred
