Job Summary

The Director of Engagement and Donor Relations will play a key role in designing and implementing strategies to engage current donors, volunteers, and new philanthropic targets at the highest level. This position will be responsible for developing proposals at the $1M plus level and overseeing stewardship and engagement initiatives. The Director will work closely with the campaign and fundraising teams to drive continuity across the Foundation and serve as the key architect for event strategy related to the cultivation and stewardship of high net-worth individuals.

The ideal candidate will have experience with comprehensive stewardship programs, philanthropic campaigns, and detail-oriented management. They will be able to work efficiently under pressure, meet deadlines, and demonstrate strategic thinking and good decision-making. Strong writing skills and the ability to articulate complex ideas are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to deepen donor cultivation and lead to $1M plus gifts
  • Oversee stewardship and engagement initiatives
  • Work closely with the campaign and fundraising teams to drive continuity across the Foundation
  • Serve as the key architect for event strategy related to the cultivation and stewardship of high net-worth individuals
  • Develop and execute special projects as assigned by the SVP/Executive Director and/or VP/Deputy Executive Director

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 Years of Experience
  • CA Driver's License
  • Experience with comprehensive stewardship programs
  • Experience with philanthropic campaigns
  • Detail-oriented and management experience
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 10+ Years of Experience
  • Knowledge around Blackbaud non-profit applications

Rady Children's Hospital is committed to compensation that is externally competitive and internally equitable. The expected hiring range for this position is $52.95 to $72.81. Compensation decisions consider a variety of factors including experience, education, licensure, unique skillsets, organizational need, and internal equity.
