Job Title: Donor Relations Specialist

Project Open Hand is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Donor Relations Specialist to join our Development team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a passionate team dedicated to providing meals with love to critically ill neighbors and older adults with complex health conditions.

Job Summary:

The Donor Relations Specialist will play a critical role in growing our mid-level donor base and stewarding our current donors. This position will be responsible for implementing strategies to improve donor engagement, retention, and overall fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement donor engagement strategies to increase mid-level donor base and retention
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date donor information in our database
  • Collaborate with the Development Operations team to plan and execute donor stewardship events
  • Provide exceptional customer service to donors, responding to calls and emails in a timely and professional manner
  • Support the Events Team in all annual fundraising events
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a minimum two years working in customer service
  • Experience providing warm, excellent, and timely customer service
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, including knowledge of mail merge
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, focused and goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy, as well as problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with or understanding of fundraising activities
  • Experience with Salesforce or comparable donor database tools
