Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Volunteer Operations Coordinator to join our team at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and troubleshooting volunteer events, maintaining constant communication between departments, and ensuring transparency, volunteer productivity, and smooth volunteer operations.

About Us

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is a leading anti-hunger organization serving the people of Los Angeles County. Our mission is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community by sourcing and acquiring nutritious food and other products, distributing them through our partner agency network and directly through programs, and conducting hunger and nutrition education and awareness campaigns, as well as advocating for public policies that benefit those we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Volunteer Supervision: Plan, supervise, and participate in the coordination and setup of each volunteer event, engage in volunteer management best practices, greet volunteer groups, assist with special requests, address concerns and inquiries, and serve as a customer service representative for the Volunteer Department.
  • Cross-Functional Communication and Collaboration: Support Volunteer Coordinators in establishing daily production needs, communicate changes or accommodations, serve as a liaison between the Volunteer Department and Operations/other departmental staff, resolve conflicts, ensure high-quality communication and collaboration, and create opportunities for discussion, idea sharing, and problem-solving between departments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma required; Prefer at least 2 years' College-level coursework completed.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, lead, and work well with others.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with various staff members.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, including time management and prioritization.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask efficiently, and maintain a positive attitude.
