Position Overview:


The Consumer Loan Processor plays a crucial role in the assessment, verification, and examination of all information and documentation related to consumer loan applications.

The individual will be responsible for preparing and reviewing loan documents, disbursing funds to member accounts, settling debts as specified in loan agreements, fulfilling post-closing obligations, and delivering exceptional service to members, staff, creditors, and vendors throughout the loan processing journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review consumer loan applications for precision and completeness of required documentation.
  • Engage with Members, Originators, Vendors, and Creditors regarding the status of loan processing.
  • Request any missing or incorrectly completed documentation from loan originators or members.
  • Coordinate with Retail and Member Contact Center during all phases of the loan process.
  • Ensure timely service commitments for closing, funding, and recording consumer loans.
  • Generate necessary loan closing documents for both Retail and Member Contact Center loans.
  • Audit all closing documents to guarantee proper execution in accordance with the closing checklist.
  • Monitor loan pipelines and follow up to obtain all necessary documentation.
  • Update the XP2 system to document requests and received materials, ensuring follow-up on outstanding requests.
  • Submit completed loan files in compliance with company retention policies.
  • Present and analyze consumer loan applications accurately within designated timeframes and current lending standards.
  • Adhere to all compliance guidelines to ensure consumer loans are processed in accordance with regulations.
  • Understand and apply relevant government laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to Anti-Money Laundering, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), US PATRIOT ACT, and OFAC.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as necessary to support the growth and advancement of the Credit Union.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong data entry capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Understanding of financial services and consumer lending regulations.
  • Familiarity with home equity loans is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of lending regulations is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in consumer lending.
